WARIALDA TOURIST OFFICE and CTC

The Tourist Office is located in the centre of town and shares a building with the Warialda Standard newspaper, Warialda Library and Warialda CTC. A new Tourist Office is currently under construction with frontage to the Gwydir Highway. The new centre will be more accessible to passing tourists and those with caravans. The museum will also be moved to the new centre.
Along with tourist information the Tourist office also houses:
WELLS’ GEM & MINERAL COLLECTION and THE ART OF FOSSICKING
The renowned Wells Gem & Mineral collection was donated to the people of the Warialda district by the Wells family who were farmers near Warialda Rail. This collection is housed in the Warialda Heritage Centre and includes rough, cut and polished stones. Prominent bark pictures and a unique round platter from India are also displayed. Fossilized plants including palm wood can be viewed and a large and interesting collection of shells is also on show.

Friday 10.00am - 12noon and 2.30pm - 5.00pm
Saturday 10.00am - 12noon
The Warialda Library has a range of fiction and non-fiction for all ages, and large print and talking books for people whose vision is poor, all available to borrow for free. There are DVDs, videos and music CDs to borrow, also for free. For use in the Library there are reference books, and some family history research resources.

The Heritage Centre in Hope St is the local information centre and museum. It houses Well's Gem and Mineral Collection, Aboriginal artefacts, shells and a bottle display.
