Off Road Racing

Warialda Off Road 200 is one of the major events in the Warialda calendar, with an eighteen year history of thrilling, high speed action. The event attracts visitors and competitors from all over Australia and provides entertainment for the young and old alike.
The Warialda Off Road community can proudly boast that they are the most exciting and passionate off road racers, with more race cars per capita than anywhere else in the world (one registered race car per 100 residents). The Warialda track is also one of the most exciting tracks in Australia, and is also spectator friendly, with all the action right there in front, allowing the audience to get up close and personal with all the thrills, spills and heart-starting action.
Each year, the event begins on Friday night, with Scrutiny taking place at the Royal Hotel end of Hope St. Here the public can get to know the race cars and their drivers, enjoy the intense and excited atmosphere and get an inside glance into just how much hard work and preparation goes into each race.
Saturday brings the fast paced excitement of the short course. Spectators can watch the race cars navigate through a series of bends, steep descents and ascents whilst trying to clock a fast time in order to advance up the ranks. Each year brings unique attractions like the thrilling race between Terry Rose's Pro buggy and a 900HP crop duster in 2008.
Sunday's events separate the 'men from the boys' in the Long Course event, a grueling test of endurance and how well the race cars can stand up to the harsh track. If the competitors finish the race without bombing out, they will have covered 200 kilometres and earned prestigious bragging rights for having done battle with "Mount Monomeeth" and lived to tell the tale.
