bikini treeThe Legend of the Bikini Tree began in 1997 when high school art teacher Sharon Gilmour felt drawn to paint a bikini on a gum tree a few kilometres north of Warialda, which bore striking resemblance to the figure of a woman. Since then, “The Bikini Tree” has adorned many different bikinis, in the theme of various events like the Olympics, State of Origin, Warialda Off-Road and Christmas.Sharon describes the three as a community noticeboard which is always painted in a theme representing what's going on in the world at the time. For example; State of Origin, Olympics, Christmas etc.

The "Bikini Tree" has been a part of Warialda culture for many years. No one knows when the tree will be painted next or what the theme will be.
