Warialda is situated on the Gwydir Highway between Moree and Inverell (see map). Steeped in history and surrounded by lush bushland, natural wonders and boasting interesting personalities, It is nestled amid hills, majestic trees and bush scrubland that are a delight to residents, visitors and nature lovers alike.
The majority of land surrounding Warialda was held by a few prominent landholders on large sheep stations such as Yallaroi, Croppa and Gournama. These stations have been subdivided and local farmers are now involved in mixed farming of stock and cropping.
WILDLIFE
Warialda has an abundance of wildlife for you to discover. The koala is a common visitor to the country side.
Warialda district is also known for its wide diversity of bird life where species of the eastern hills meet birds of the western plains. It's also the habitat of the Pale Headed Rosella. Read more >>

A powerhouse centre/second row forward from Warialda. 'Crusher' Cleal first came to prominence playing on the wing for Northern Division against Great Britain in 1979. Read more>>
