One such example is the list of licences that was published in the Warialda Standard, 6 June 1922: ‘Commercial Hotel’, Warialda- W.M. Burke; ‘Graman Hotel’- G.F. Phifer; ‘White Swan Hotel’, Warialda- S.G. Kerrigan; ‘Royal Hotel’, Warialda- William Scutt and ‘Coolatai Hotel’- Francis Marshall The thematic history of hotels reveals a complex story of owners, investors and licensees.
