Warialda Combined Probus Club

History of Probus
Probus originated in the U.K. in 1965. The first Probus Clubs were formed in New Zealand in 1974, and in Australia in 1976. Probus has filled a need for today's active retirees, so much so that the growth has been phenomenal. It is now a world-wide movement in over 22 countries.
Probus is a non-profit social club dedicated to promoting the development of frienship and acquaintance and the advancement of intellectual interests of its members. As at July 2009, there are 1796 Probus Clubs in Australia.
The Warialda Probus Club
The Warialda Combined Probus Club was formed in 2005 as an off-shoot of the local Rotary Club who saw a need for retirees in the district for a social group. Probus provides an excellent opportunity for retirees to extend friendships and participate in outings. There are approximately 55 active members in the group with an average of 25 members attending each meeting or outing.
The Warialda Probus club meets every 3rd Monday at the Warialda Golf and Bowling club at 10.00am
